Davies: “The fans have been unbelievable” 0

For it’s tenth EuroLeague match-up of the season, Zalgiris has the sight set on Armani Exchange Milan, as the two Lithuanian players, Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Arturas Gudaitis, return to Zalgirio Arena.

Still in search of their first home win, Zalgiris players have been putting in work to stop the high-powered offense of the Italian club. Center Brandon Davies shared his insights on the upcoming match-up with Zalgiris TV.

“I’m feeling really good about my game and my body. I’ve just been leaving it all out there on the court. Coming away with losses is hard to take, but at the same time we’re headed in the right direction, myself personally as well. I’m happy about that.”

So far, the two sides sit quite far from the each other in the standings – AX Armani boasts a 9-3 record to keep them in 5th place, whereas Zalgiris have three wins in nine games, good for the 10th position.

The Italian side overhauled the roster, greatly improving on the perimeter with the additions of guards Mike James and Nemanja Nedovic and forward Jeff Brooks.

“They reloaded. They have a different roster and they’re playing at a really high level and really can beat anybody. They’re definitely a team we need to take seriously and try to get our first win here.”

The big man admitted that the fans have been a big inspiration to them and he hopes for continued support, despite the fact that wins at home haven’t been coming as easily as they’d hope.

“They’ve been unbelievable. Even though we haven’t won at home, they still bring the energy that we need every time. When they’re loud like that, it causes a lot of confusion on the other team and at the same time, it gives us a lot of extra energy and effort. I expect nothing less and I know they’ll be there to support us. Hopefully we can get this one for them.”
