Zalgiris honors the 1999 EuroLeague champions 0

During the halftime of the EuroLeague Quarterfinals game against Fenerbahce, Zalgiris honored the club’s legends who brought home a EuroLeague championship in 1999 and raised the jersey of head coach Jonas Kazlauskas to the rafters of Zalgirio Arena.

Kazlauskas’ jersey is now the fourth one, as it joins Arvydas Sabonis’, Modestas Paulauskas’ and Vladas Garastas’ shirts. The coach was also awarded a framed Zalgiris jersey and a symbolic gift, a coach clipboard.

Kazlauskas guided the team throughout 1994-2000 and those years were enshrined on the jersey.

All the players on the roster were awarded copies of the 1999 EuroLeague trophy, that were masterfully created by the jewelers of Alpera.

The ceremony witnessed nearly all the players of the 1998-1999 season: Mindaugas Zukauskas, Giedrius Gustas, Kestutis Sestokas, Saulius Stombergas, Eurelijus Zukauskas, Dainius Adomaitis, Jiri Zidek, Darius Maskoliunas and Tomas Masiulis.

The only ones who could not make it were Tyus Edney and Anthony Bowie.
