#TimeOutZalgiris registers the last game of the EuroLeague season 0

The final game of Zalgiris’ EuroLeague season rocked Kaunas on Thursday. With a terrific atmosphere in the stands, the green-and-whites put up an honorable fight against heavy title favorites Fenerbahce. During the game, we had Zalgiris TV’s Dalia Belickaite running all around the backstage of Zalgirio Arena, talking to fans and guests.

One of the guests, a Zalgiris fan through and through, one of the best-known boxers in Lithuania, Mean Machine Egidijus Kavaliauskas.

“I don’t always get the chance to watch all the games, but I always check on the scores and support them.”

The boxer used to go to the same school with Zalgiris forward Edgaras Ulanovas. Asked how he’d fare in a basketball game against his former schoolmate, Kavaliauskas gave one condition to the game.

“He’s a basketball player, I’m a boxer. The only way I’m winning is if we’re playing basketball in one quarter, and boxing in the other.”

Among the smiling faces in the crowd were the ladies that never miss a Zalgiris game, the wives of Aaron White and Brandon Davies. Grace White and Lenzie Davies talked about how they support the team.

Grace mentioned that she tries not to diss the referees around the kids, but still gets really jumpy during games.

“I really get into the game. It’s hard when you’re sitting this close and it’s so loud not to be so excited. A lot of times I punch her or something.”

Lenzie stated that she’s the calmer one of the two and deals with the game’s intensity in her own way.

“I’m more calm than her. I just get really silent when I’m nervous.”

After the game, Dalia went out to talk to Fenerbahce superstar Luigi Datome. The Italian was raving about the atmosphere in the arena and the heart Zalgiris put into the season.

“Congratulations to Zalgiris. They played really good basketball, they fought and and they played very fairly, very correctly. The atmosphere here was amazing. One more time, congratulations to Zalgiris for their season.”
