#BackToSchool. Deon Thompson talks history as he recalls high school days 0

Zalgiris TV took another Zalgiris player on a trip down memory lane, as they had Deon Thompson sharing his memories from highschool and college in the #BackToSchool segment.

The green-and-white big didn’t hide the fact that he’s a heavy sleeper and would have it tough getting out of bed in the morning.

“I used to always be late for school. I’m not a very morning person, so it was always tough getting up and trying to get ready for school. I remember just eating breakfast in the car so I could get to school on time.”

The big man feels that one of the most important lessons was History and shared his knowledge on both American and Lithuanian history.

“I think you can learn a lot from history. You can always learn from the past. Being from America we have such a young history, but when you come to Europe there’s so much deep history.”

In the latest episode of #BackToSchool, the Zalgiris man revealed that he seriously took up baseball growing up and that his mother still gives him a hard time for dropping the American sport back in the day.

“Early on I played baseball and I was actually pretty good. To this day my mom still thinks that I would have been a better baseball than basketball player. As I got older, I just found a passion for basketball, fell in love with it. Also, I wanted to focus on one sport and become the best that I can be.”

In the full interview, Deon Thompson talked about girls’ attention growing up and revealed some of the things he would have changed from back in the day.
