Steve Vasturia joins Zalgiris TV for first one-on-one 1

Zalgiris first addition of this offseason, Steve Vasturia, is already sweating it out in Zalgirio Arena, as Zalgiris prepares for the upcoming season.

The 25-year-old moved to Kaunas from Rasta Vechta, and previously donned ALBA Berlin and Palencia jerseys. Vasturia shared his thoughts with Zalgiris TV after the team’s first official practice.

“Since I got to Europe, the name and the club is something that I’ve watched and I’ve heard of. It’s a geat feeling to be a part of such a great team. Guys want to play at the highest level and compete in EuroLeague, so it’s really an honor to hear from them and be a part of this. It will be a really good challenge and I’m excited to learn and to get better.”

Last season in the FIBA Champions League, Vasturia averaged 11.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists in 30 minutes of action. In the German league, his numbers were similar – 13.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.

“I do a little bit of everything. I can handle the ball and shooting is something I’ve always tried to bring to each team that I’m on. As a player I just give a 110% every time, whether that’s contributing in different ways, creating for my teammates, scoring. Just trying to do a little bit of everything”
