Coach Schiller addresses Maccabi threats and defensive work 1

As Zalgiris set out for its road trip to Tel Aviv, where they look to face off against Maccabi, head coach Martin Schiller traditionally sat down with the media to talk about the upcoming battles.

Coach Schiller stressed the importance of stopping Scottie Wilbekin.

“We put a very big focus on him. He’s the main scoring threat for them. Not the only one, but the main one. Finding the right matchups, finding multiple matchups for him. We’ll try to figure it out.”

Maccabi is likely to be without Othello Hunter in the upcoming game, but Martin Schiller noted that preparations are going as per usual.

“There could be some changes. We don’t know if he’ll be missing or not due to the concussion. We’re planning as if he’s playing, that’s the smartest thing to do. If he’s not playing, it impacts them, because other guys will have to play more for them.

The coach noted that after the Real Madrid game, their main accent was on defense.

“The main things were on the defensive end, tightening things up. The Real game was a different game than the game we’re going to face now. A different make-up of the team, different statistically. It just came down to tactical details on the defensive end.”

tik keliose rungtynese keliose laiko atkarpose buvo gynyba , likusia laiko dali , gynybos nebuvo pastebeta , labai puiku kad kreipiate demesi i gynyba ir gal priversit visus iseinancius i aikste laikytis gynybos taisykliu . Suprantu kai puolime gerai sekasi tai ta gynyba atrodo antraeilis tols dalykas , bet eurolygoj ne visada iseina uzmetyt varzovus kepurem.
