Coach Schiller highlights Milan’s shooting prowess 2

As Zalgiris sets out for Milan for the back end of the double EuroLeague week, Martin Schiller traditionally talked to the media before the battle against AX Armani Exchange.

Zalgiris’ head coach stressed the threat of shooting from every position.

“They’re a highly talented team, with a lot of shooting one-through-four. Sometimes, even one-through-five, depending on who they have at that spot. They have a lot of talent at the playmaking position, and it’s going to be a real good challenge.”

Zalgiris has already faced AX Armani Exchange in the EuroLeague preseason tour in Kaunas, where Zalgiris had to face a 70-88 defeat.

“They haven’t changed much. The personnel is the same, the style of play is the same – aggressive defense, aggressively taking away entries, aggressively on the basketball. It’s very important to handle that well. It’s a team that stretches out and spaces very well, due to their shooting.”

The Italian side lost to Crvena Zvezda 79-87 in the team’s last matchup on Wednesday night. Martin Schiller noted that the loss will add a sense of urgency and motivation for their battle against Zalgiris.

“I think the main thing we can take away is the mentality will come to play with. After losing to Crvena Zvezda at home, and playing at home again, their sense of urgency will be very very high.”
