Coach Schiller highlights Fenerbahce size and individual battles 0

After a win against Baskonia to start the EuroLeague double week, Martin Schiller traditionally spoke to the media before Zalgiris’ Round 15 battle against Fenerbahce.

The Igor Kokoskov-led Fenerbahce has only won one of their seven last games and heads into the battle against Zalgiris without Jan Vesely. Zalgiris head coach traditionally spoke to the media about the upcoming face-off.

“Fenerbahce is an extremely talented team. As of now, they have a very big line-up, especially on the perimeter spots. They are a very well coach team, dynamic and talented. We’re looking at a very big challenge.”

Speaking of tall line-ups Schiller commented on Nigel Hayes playing at the three-spot.

“He’s done a good job. He brings size and strength at the three spot, and he’s proven he can do a good job there. Without Pato and Steve, we had to shift a player down, moving Augustine Rubit to the four. Nigel has done a good job.”

The coach noted the importance of Nando De Colo’s return to Fenerbahce’s line-up.

“You’ve got such a high-quality player. It makes a humungous difference. It’s something that can’t be denied. It takes a while until the team finds a complete rhythm. For Fenerbahce it’s just going to be a matter of time, because the talent level is extremely high, and the coaching is very good. They’re going to get there.”
