Youngsters handed a chance, as Zalgiris cruises past Nevezis 1

Zalgiris improved their record in the Bertsafe-LKL with yet another victory. Martin Schiller’s side swept Nevezis-Optibet aside, as they took a 94-59 victory in Zalgirio Arena.

While the visitors started off on the right foot, holding and 8-10 lead, that was the last time they were ahead. Zalgiris responded with a monstrous 19-0 run, and finished the quarter ahead 27-10

Things didn’t get better for Nevezis as the game progressed, either. Zalgiris kept a good pace and continued building on an already solid advantage. With 25 points separating the two sides before the final quarter, it was all said and done early. Zalgiris finished strong and walked away with a 35-point margin.

Zalgiris gave a chance to two of the team’s youngest players, as Mantas Rubstavicius and Paulius Murauskas recorded their first baskets for the club, scoring 3 and 2 points, respectively.

The green-and-whites were propelled by 14 points from Karolis Lukosiunas and Marius Grigonis. Rokas Jokubaitis added 13 points and 7 dimes, while Martinas Geben finished up with 12 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists.
