#ZalgirisOnAir talks to Augustine Rubit 0

The #ZalgirisOnAir podcast has reached a symbolic mark, as they present the 40th episode of the show, with Augustine Rubit joining the Zalgiris TV crew.

She show’s host Rytis Kazlauskas talked to the American big man for more than an hour, touching up on a lot of different topics, and answering the questions sent in by fans.

Rubit had the chance to work with a well-known European coach Andrea Trinchieri in Bamberg, and he shared an exchange where he actually managed to change the coach’s opinion after his first EuroLeague game.

“I post up one time in practice and Trinchieri said ‘What are you doing? You think you’re going to post-up in EuroLeague? You can’t post up Kyle Hines – what are you going to do to a guy like that?’ Our first game against Kyle Hines, two quick post-ups, two fouls on him, he out of the game in the first half. It felt great, just to go out there, after him saying that.”

Augustine also shared a different side of him, too, speaking about his love for animals and a possible internship in a zoo.

“The thing I love most, are animals. I’d like to be in a safari in my short shorts and the hat, taking you on a ride, showing you the lions. Obviously, I didn’t go to school for that, I don’t know how hard it would be to get into that. I was thinking of doing an internship in a zoo one of these summers.”
