Zalgiris gets together for first team practice of the preseason 0
Zalgiris started its preseason work for the 2021-22 season on Wednesday, as the players and personnel gathered together for their first practice together.
The team’s rookies met the returning players, as Martin Schiller gave an opening word to the team. Zalgiris Insiders can check out the full speech from the coach.
Schiller also introduced his staff and administration team, introduced the players to the locker room rules and gave a quick look at the plans of the upcoming days.
The first days of preseason will be mostly spent with physical preparation coaches Sigitas Kavaliauskas and Nerijus Navickas, while they will move on to basketball activities at the end of the week.
The green-and-whites will play five friendly games before the start of the season, with matchups in Kaunas against Lokomotiv and Lietkabelis on the 1st and 3rd of September, followed by a trip to Turkey, where Zalgiris is set to participate in the Gloria Cup tournament.
Zalgiris will face Lokomotiv once again on the 8th of September, with two Turkish clubs, Tofas Bursa and Anadolu Efes Istanbul awaiting on the 10th and 12th of September, respectively.
