#ZalgirisBackstage visits green-and-white friends 5

A long-awaited EuroLeague home opener awaits Zalgirio Arena on the 7^th of October, with the green-and-whites taking on Zenit St. Petersburg.

With the occasion coming up rapidly, Zalgiris TV’s new host Egle Jurgaityte got on the road to Vilnius with Zalgirinis to invite some loyal Zalgiris fans to the upcoming game.

The first one to receive an invitation was director, singer and TV host Vidas Bareikis, who couldn’t contain his excitement about the start of the EuroLeague season, practiced his chants and shared some thoughts on what he missed most last season.

“Mostly, I miss the packed arena. Last season, I had the chance to go there when it was almost empty, only with the players inside. The feeling is pretty sad, but having seen the first LKL game, I really can’t wait for the upcoming EuroLeague battles.”

The Lavrinovic brothers Darjus and Ksistof, who once donned the green-and-white themselves, were no less excited to receive invitations. They noted not only to be eagerly waiting for Zalgiris’ first game, but also having the chance to see Mindaugas Kuzminskas on the opposite side of the equation.

Some of the other notable faces from the show business schene included Zygimantas Gecas, Justinas Jarutis, Daddy Was A Milkman, Tadas Juodsnukis. The musicians were eager to join the fans in the boiling from emotions Zalgirio Arena.

After the pandemic, the green-and-whites will look even more to the support of its fans, and the players are hoping to see the stands filled to the brim with the most loyal basketball fans in Europe.
