#ZalgirisOnAir sits down with Tyler Cavanaugh 0

A long-awaited #ZalgirisOnAir podcast is back, as Zalgiris fans have the opportunity to learn more about the team’s newcomer Tyler Cavanaugh.

The host of the podcast Rytis Kazlauskas talked to the American for more than an hour and touched on a number of interesting moments from the player’s career, this season and answered questions sent in by the fans.

After college Cavanaugh fulfilled one of his basketball dreams and played in the NBA, where he spent two years playing for Atlanta Hawks and the Utah Jazz.

“NBA play style is different, and big men who can spread the floor are very useful – that’s why I was there. I could stretch the floor, make shots in the four or five-spot. However not being very athletic, I had problems at that level. I had to use all of my offensive advantages and I learned a lot.”

Coming to play in Europe, Cavanaugh found a style that’s more fitting to his taste.

“EuroLeague for me is the best basketball in the world. Attention to detail, defense, physicality, and the importance of every possession – I never played so tough in my life. EuroLeague is a different animal, so I’m very happy to be back in this league.”
