Zalgiris-2 guard Kajus Mikalauskas has been registered for the LKL championship, and could make his debut in the Lithuanian basketball league’s top flight against Juventus Utena on Sunday.
Since last season, the player, born in 2007, has represented the Zalgiris-2 team in the NKL championship. In the 2024-2025 season, Mikalauskas spent an average of 12 minutes on the court, scoring 3.4 points and making 1 assist.
The promising youngster was invited to join the main Zalgiris team during their preseason preparations and traveled with them to the Gloria Cup tournament in Turkey. There, he played in two of four games, as the team was later joined by defenders returning from the European Championship, leaving the young talent on the bench.
However, Mikalauskas did get a chance to show his skills and looked great in the first preseason game against Sabah Baku, where he finished the game with 9 points and 12 efficiency points to his name and was among the most valuable players for Zalgiris.
