Zalgiris Kaunas newcomer Matt Mitchell has arrived to Lithuania on Monday afternoon. The forward, who landed in Vilnius airport, was delighted to join the green and white team and shared his first impressions with Zalgiris TV.
“I feel very good! I’m happy to arrive in Lithuania. It’s great to be here and to start the preparation for the season. It was a long flight, but I’m ready for anything,” Mitchell said.
Zalgiris will be the third stop of his professional career for the 25-year-old 198 cm tall player. The American spent his first season outside the USA with SIG Strasbourg and last season with Beşiktaş Istanbul in Turkey.
“I want to grow and develop. To grow and develop, and continue to make connections in my career. To have new experiences and to be able to show my talent. To show what I have already built up. I hope to be able to do that. I hope we win a lot of games!”, said Mitchell about his goals for the season with Zalgiris.
The player and the other Zalgiris players will start their preparations for the season on 21 August, when the team will gather for the first training session. On 4 and 8 September, Zalgiris will also play its first friendly matches, which will be broadcast live on Zalgiris Insider.
