Zalgiris Kaunas defeated Paris Basketball 85-79 on Friday night and secured a spot in the EuroLeague playoffs after a two-season absence. After the game, Moses Wright shared his emotions following an outstanding performance in which he scored 16 points and grabbed 18 rebounds.
“It feels really great. This is a big achievement for the city and for the team. For many people, this will be their first time in the playoffs, so the feeling is amazing,” said the big man.
By pulling down 18 rebounds, Wright recorded the best rebounding performance in the EuroLeague since 2006.
“I just wanted to win. I knew they would take a lot of shots, so I’m happy they missed. I could’ve had only seven rebounds if they had made more shots, but I just went after the ball and got my reward,” Wright explained.
The EuroLeague quarterfinal series between Zalgiris and Fenerbahce Istanbul will begin in the final week of April.
