Zalgiris players returned to Kaunas at the end of last week and will face another EuroLeague quarterfinal battle against Fenerbahce Istanbul this Wednesday, with the Turkish side leading the best-of-five series 2–0. Ahead of the upcoming game, Nigel Williams‑Goss, who delivered a solid performance in Turkey, shared his thoughts on the team’s outlook.

“Of course, experience plays its role in the playoffs. I wouldn’t say it’s the main advantage, and I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary, but yes, it does have an impact,” the Zalgiris guard said.

He also discussed the importance of limiting the opponent’s key players.

“We can’t allow them easy shots or let them get into their rhythm from the very beginning. We have to contest every shot – that’s the only way to slow down scorers of that caliber,” Williams‑Goss emphasized.

The American guard also highlighted the importance of home-court support on Nemunas Island.

“Without a doubt, the fans will be very important. We’ve been playing very solid at home, especially toward the end of the season. It’s never easy for visiting teams here, and I believe the playoff atmosphere will be on a completely different level, so I’m excited that the series is coming back to our arena,” he said.

Finally, Williams‑Goss spoke about the team’s mindset heading into Game 3.

“We have to focus only on the next game and on the things we can improve. We want to extend this series and our season,” he added.
