In the EuroLeague mid-season survey, Sylvain Francisco was recognized in two categories. The leader of Zalgiris Kaunas received recognition among the players who made the biggest breakthrough and among the most impressive players.
In both categories, the Frenchman received 15% of the votes and finished in second place.
McKinley Wright, guard for the Dubai Basketball, took first place among the players showing the greatest improvement. The American received 20% of the votes.
Jordan Nwora of Crvena Zvezda Belgrade came in third with 10% of the votes.
Panathinaikos Athens leader Kendrick Nunn was voted the most impressive player (25%). Francisco and Paris Basketball leader Nadiir Hifi received 15% of the votes.
According to club managers, the best defensive player is Monaco forward Alpha Diallo (30%). Real Madrid center Walter Tavares came second with 15% of the votes.
Bayern Munich guard Andreas Obst (50%) was named the best shooter in the EuroLeague, while Panathinaikos veteran Kostas Sloukas (40%) was named the best leader.
Valencia Basket head coach Pedro Martinez is considered the best coach in the league (45%).
Hapoel Tel Aviv’s American Elijah Bryant is seen as the most valuable player of the season (30%). Olympiacos Piraeus star Sasha Vezenkov is second (20%), and Nunn is third (15%).
Valencia Basket was voted the most surprising team, receiving 75% of the votes. According to EuroLeague team managers, the Valencia club is also the most interesting to watch (50%).
There are five clear contenders for the EuroLeague Final Four: Panathinaikos (95% of votes), Fenerbahçe (85%), Hapoel (60%), Barcelona (50%), and Olympiacos (50%).
The best passers are Real Madrid’s Facundo Campazzo and Sloukas (25% each).
The most promising young player in the league is Valencia’s Sergio De Larrea (35%). Saliou Niang, forward for Virtus Bologna, is second (15%).
The most difficult opponents are Valencia Basket (35%) and AS Monaco (15%).
Four players were singled out as the main ones with whom the managers would like to sign a contract: Nunn (20%), Diallo, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Tavares (10% each).
