The “Zalgiris in Your School” initiative for the 2025-26 season has reached the finish line, once again proving that the green-and-white basketball spirit in Lithuania continues to grow stronger. For the 16th year, the initiative stood out not only for its activity but also for its scale, as 98 schools from across Lithuania participated, while more than 32,000 students attended games at Zalgirio Arena throughout the season.
During the season, students actively attended Zalgiris home games, created a lively atmosphere in the stands, and shared their experiences, with this year’s winners eventually emerging from Kaunas Juozas Grusas Arts Gymnasium.
The most active school regularly brought between 200 and 400 students to EuroLeague games, and on Thursday, Zalgiris players visited the winning Juozas Grusas Gymnasium. The emotions from the visit can already be seen in a video available on the Zalgiris YouTube channel.
During their visit, the Zalgiris players received gifts, answered students’ questions, and handed out numerous autographs. Moses Wright, who wore a microphone throughout the visit, also tested his Lithuanian language skills, offering fans a chance to experience the full atmosphere and even see a student artwork inspired by one of his dunks.
Although this season’s “Zalgiris in Your School” project has concluded, the connection with young fans remains strong. The initiative continues to nurture a new generation for whom basketball is not only a sport, but also a sense of community, emotion, and shared identity.
