Zalgiris Kaunas won the semi-finals match of the Citadele King Mindaugas Cup Final Four in Vilnius. Andrea Trinchieri’s team defeated 7bet-Lietkabelis Panevezys 79-56 (24-13, 14-14, 20-12, 21-11) and will meet Neptunas Klaipeda in the finals on Sunday.
Ignas Brazdeikis and Sylvain Francisco scored five points each, while Edgaras Ulanovas had four points to start the game, 14-4. Brazdeikis, Francisco and Arnas Butkevicius scored on free throws, Laurynas Birutis made a layup and Lonnie Walker IV added four points, 24-13.
Francisco and Birutis scored, Deividas Sirvydis and Brazdeikis hit a three-pointer each, and Walker IV added four more points, 38-27.
Immediately after the break, Brazdeikis scored five more points and Francisco hit two more three-pointers, 49-35. Ulanovas completed a good long-range shot and a successful drive to the basket, while Alen Smailagic and Walker IV each made a free throw, and Matt Mitchell scored a two-pointer to make it 58-45.
Sirvydis started the quarter with five points, Brazdeikis added a two-pointer, Smailagic dunked it home, Walker IV scored ten more points, and Sirvydis sealed the victory, 79-56.
Walker IV led the scorers with 19 points. Brazdeikis added 16, Francisco had 14 points.
