Zalgiris Kaunas has been recognized by the EuroLeague club GMs. In the traditional annual mid-season poll, the top managers of all 18 EuroLeague teams were surveyed.
Zalgiris triumphed in the category of the best social media team, with 22.2% of respondents voting for the Kaunas team.
Zalgiris and Olympiacos Piraeus shared second place in the EuroLeague’s most uncomfortable opponent category. Paris Basketball won this category with 27.8% of the votes. Kaunas and Piraeus were the teams of choice with 16.7% of the vote each.
Voting in the poll did not allow you to choose your own team or players.
Kendrick Nunn of Panathinaikos Athens and T.J. Shorts of Paris Basketball each received 33% of the votes in the regular season MVP category. Nunn (44.4%) was also chosen the best clutch player.
Andreas Obst of Bayern Munich was voted the best shooter (38.9%).
Real Madrid’s Facundo Campazzo was unrivalled in the category of best passer, with 72.2% of the votes.
Real’s center Walter Tavares was the best defender with 38.9%.
Paris Basketball sniper Nadir Hifi received 33.3% of the votes in the Rising Star category.
The best coach is Paris Basketball’s Tiago Splitter, with 27.8% of the vote.
Paris Basketball (88.9%) was unrivalled as the most surprising team.
Panathinaikos center Mathias Lessort and ASVEL’s Theo Maledon got 16.7% of the votes each as the players that EuroLeague club managers would like to sign for their team.
