As Zalgiris Kaunas continues building its roster for the upcoming season, the club has said goodbye to three team members.
Moses Wright, Laurynas Birutis, and Ignas Brazdeikis will not wear the green-and-white jerseys next season. As the contracts of all three players have expired, they will look for new clubs.
Wright joined Zalgiris last summer, Brazdeikis spent the past two seasons with the team, while Birutis played for four seasons.
In his third EuroLeague season, 27-year-old Wright averaged 13.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and a performance index rating (PIR) of 17.1. Meanwhile, in the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL), the 207 cm center averaged 10.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and a PIR of 13.2.
For his part, Brazdeikis averaged 4.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, and a PIR of 3.1 in Europe’s top-tier league. The 27-year-old forward posted averages of 8 points and 8.4 PIR in the domestic championship.
The 213 cm tall Birutis recorded 4.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and a PIR of 5.2 in the EuroLeague, and averaged 8.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and an efficiency rating of 11.5 in the LKL.
