Zalgiris Kaunas has parted ways with guard Tomas Dimsa by mutual agreement.
The Kaunas native made his debut in the main team back in 2013, when he played 2 seasons. The 196 cm tall guard returned to Kaunas in the summer of 2020, but was loaned out to Spanish and Italian clubs for a couple of years, before settling into the Zalgiris line-up for the 2022-2023 season.
Last season, Dimsa scored 6.4 points, 1.7 assists and 4.3 EFF in the EuroLeague.
In the summer, the 31-year-old guard represented the Lithuanian national team in the Olympic qualifying tournament, but upon his return to Lithuania, Dimsa underwent shoulder surgery and has been undergoing rehabilitation.
“We thank Tomas for the years spent in Zalgiris and for his contribution to the team’s results. We have seen him grow as a player in Kaunas and we wish him the best of luck in his career. As the player was recovering from shoulder surgery, a new team was interested in his services, so we decided together that it would be a win-win situation for all parties to part ways. We wish him the best of luck in his new team,” said Gediminas Navickas, Zalgiris GM.
It has already been officially announced that Dimsa will continue his career with Casademont Zaragoza in the Spanish top league.
