Ahead of the upcoming season, Euroleague Media Day took place at Zalgirio Arena. This time, Dustin Sleva and Moses Wright took the microphone and interviewed Zalgiris players, who were full of smiles, funny stories, and good vibes.
The very first person Sleva met at the photo wall was Dovydas Giedraitis, for whom the day started a little too early.
“It’s a very early morning for me – I arrived here at 8:45 a.m., so I just got up, had a quick snack, and headed to the arena,” said Giedraitis, still half asleep.
Later, Sleva stopped by the locker room, where he chatted with Nigel Williams-Goss, who was getting ready, and Maodo Lo, who had just become European champion, exchanging a few words in French.
Then Wright joined the new Zalgiris TV reporter, took the microphone, and began asking Sleva questions about his appearance on Laura Dragunaite’s show OFICIALU.
Arnas Butkevicius, on the other hand, was not so impressed with media day.
“I've had a lot of media days in my career and I still don’t like them,” Butkevicius quipped.
Finally, Sleva passed the baton to Wright, who briefly spoke with several Zalgiris players, including captain Edgaras Ulanovas, who recommended that the American visit Pazaislis Monastery, one of the most beautiful places in Kaunas, and Sylvain Francisco, who made no secret of his excitement about the first EuroLeague home game and the prospect of a full arena.
We invite you to watch the full video on the Zalgiris YouTube channel to see how the Zalgiris big men did talking to their teammates and to hear more of their witty responses.
