Zalgiris Kaunas (21-1) closed out the week with a convincing home win, defeating Siauliai (11-10) 94-65 (22-15, 23-22, 25-18, 24-8).
Zalgiris opened strong with an 11-0 run led by Mantas Rubstavicius, Dovydas Giedraitis, and Dustin Sleva. Although Siauliai answered with 13 straight points, Laurynas Birutis and the shooters restored Zalgiris’ lead to 22-15 after the first quarter.
In the second period, Edgaras Ulanovas and Giedraitis added points, while Rubstavicius and Sleva each hit multiple threes, helping Zalgiris stay in front 45-37 at halftime.
Siauliai briefly cut the margin to 47-46, but Zalgiris responded with a decisive 14-0 run sparked by Arnas Butkevicius’ two threes. Brazdeikis, Ulanovas, Wright, and Birutis added points, extending the lead to 61-46. Late in the third, Sirvydis and Brazdeikis pushed it to 70-57.
In the final quarter, Francisco scored his first points, while Sirvydis, Giedraitis, Ulanovas, and Rubstavicius stretched the gap to 86-59. Majus Bulanovas scored his first points with the senior team, and Sirvydis closed the game at 94-65.
Rubstavicius was the leading scorer with 17 points. Sirvydis and Sleva added 14 points each.
