Zalgiris Kaunas opened the fourth round of Lithuanian Basketball League with a road victory, defeating Jonava Hipocredit, 101-84.

The guests set the tone early, with Deividas Sirvydis scoring five straight points to open the game. The visitors shot extremely well from long range, knocking down eight three-pointers in the quarter, while Laurynas Birutis dominated inside late. Zalgiris finished the opening period with a commanding 34-20 lead.

Birutis continued his strong performance early in the quarter as Zalgiris extended its advantage, but the hosts responded with a 7-0 run that forced a timeout. After regrouping, Zalgiris regained control through balanced scoring, although the team failed to convert from beyond the arc in the period. At halftime, the Kaunas side held a solid 52-40 lead.

Ignas Brazdeikis opened the half with four quick points, but Jonava managed to cut the deficit to eight. Zalgiris responded with a strong stretch led by Sylvain Francisco, Deividas Sirvydis, and Maodo Lo, steadily rebuilding the margin. A late three-point barrage allowed Zalgiris to head into the final quarter comfortably ahead, 83-60.

Zalgiris quickly pushed the lead past 25 points with efficient finishes by Azuolas Tubelis and Dustin Sleva. Jonava produced a late scoring run, but Edgaras Ulanovas and Sleva halted any comeback hopes with timely baskets. Laurynas Birutis capped the night by scoring Zalgiris’ 100th point, sealing the 101-84 victory.

Birutis led Zalgiris scoring with 18 points. Francisco added 15 points and 8 assists, while Sirvydis finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
